Umar Sheikh Sworn Into New Jersey Muslim Lawyers Association Board of Directors

Umar Sheikh, a Real Estate Law and Transactions Offit Kurman attorney, has been sworn in to the New Jersey Muslim Lawyers Association Board of Directors, effective November 2019.

The New Jersey Muslim Lawyers Association (NJMLA) exists to advance the goals, needs and interests of Muslim American attorneys in the New Jersey area, educate the local and national community about matters affecting the Muslim community, advance and protect the rights of Muslims in America. Additionally, the NJMLA aspires to facilitate networking and the sharing of resources among Muslim attorneys and promote education on issues relevant to Muslim attorneys; promote Muslim participation in public service; encourage Muslims to enter the legal profession and to provide mentorship for Muslims who wish to further their legal careers. NJMLA is a non-profit organization, incorporated under 501(c)(3).

At Offit Kurman, Mr. Sheikh serves as a Principal in the firm's Real Estate Law and Transactions group. His practice concentrates on all aspects of real estate law – purchases, sales, financing, development, leasing, evictions, foreclosures, management – and those areas of law that are related to real estate – corporate, tax, asset protection, estate planning, and litigation.
