Ben Stevens to Moderate South Carolina Bar’s Advanced Family Law Seminar on December 2, 2022

Benjamin Stevens has planned and will moderate the 4th Annual Advanced Family Law Topics for the Bench and Bar at the SC Bar Conference Center on December 2, 2022. The seminar is co-sponsored by the South Carolina Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) and the SC Bar’s CLE Division. The program has been specifically designed for experienced family law attorneys who want to stay current on the latest developments in family law.

This year’s program will feature a distinguished faculty, including nationally recognized family law practitioner and AAML Fellow Lawrence Jay Braunstein of White Plains, New York, who will present How to Effectively Address Allegations of Child Sexual Abuse and/or Resist/Refuse, Dynamics Child Custody Cases. This essential training will assist attorneys in combating the rise in parents using false abuse allegations and parental alienation tactics as litigation strategies in divorce or custody cases.

The faculty includes other distinguished legal experts from Charleston, Greenville, and Columbia, South Carolina. The Honorable Timothy Madden, Family Court Judge, and attorney Gregory Forman will teach lawyers how best to build credibility with the family court bench. Attorney Colleen Condon will provide a comprehensive primer on representing LGBTQ+ clients in family court. Dr. Jesse Raley and Dr. Allison Foster will provide guidance on how to draft effective mental health evaluation order for your family court cases. Attorney Guy Vitetta will offer advice on effectively and persuasively presenting financial evidence to the family court.
