Offit Kurman Welcomes Three Attorneys to its Growing Commercial Litigation Practice Group

BETHESDA, (July 13, 2023) Offit Kurman is pleased to announce the addition of three attorneys to its Commercial Litigation practice group. Joseph Ashby, Dani Schwartz, and Austin Hinel have joined the firm’s ranks.

 

Professional headshot of attorney Joseph AshbyJoseph Ashby joins Offit Kurman as a Principal in the Los Angeles, California office, focusing on business litigation, class action defense, trade secret and trademark litigation, contract disputes, and partnership and startup disputes. He represents a diverse range of clients, from family businesses to Fortune 500 companies, in state and federal courts nationwide.

Ashby holds a B.A., summa cum laude, from Arizona State University and a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan School of Law where he was an Associate Editor of the Michigan Law Review. He also served as a law clerk for the Honorable Robert Holmes Bell in the Western District of Michigan after completing his J.D.

Known for crafting creative strategies, he excels at turning complex business disputes into clear, compelling stories to achieve client objectives. Dani handles a wide range of real estate disputes, including landlord/tenant matters, mortgage foreclosure, and breach of contract. He is also a commercial arbitrator and frequently speaks at events and publishes on a wide array of legal topics.

Schwartz earned his B.A. from Cornell University and his J.D. from The George Washington School of Law.

He represents clients on both plaintiff and defendant sides, with experience in all stages of litigation and mediation. With firsthand knowledge of estate administration and litigation, he provides effective counsel and guidance to clients, navigating various legal issues. He serves a wide range of clients, including local, regional, and international entities.
