Alpa V. Bhatia is an associate in the firm's Labor and Employment group. She is licensed in Delaware and Pennsylvania and focuses her practice on employment law, commercial litigation, family law, education law, and animal law.
Alpa has experience representing employers in the areas of workers’ compensation, employee handbooks and policies, civil litigation consulting, non-compete contracts, and breach of contract litigation. She has handled cases involving fraud and misrepresentation, administrative hearings, debt collection, breach of contract, severance agreement drafting, protection from abuse, custody issues, and various education law issues.
Alpa held a clerkship for the National Lawyers Guild, Delaware and New Jersey Chapter, where she provided pro-bono work in the Prisoners Legal Advocacy Network (PLAN), working with incarcerated clients and the legal team to challenge unconstitutional conditions of confinement. She also interned for the Delaware Law School; representing clients on cases received through the Public Defender's Office in Chester County, including conducting client interviews, conducting legal research, filing motions, representing clients in preliminary hearings, and reaching plea agreements with the prosecutor.
