Join us on Friday, September 9, 2022 at 11:00 am for a live panel discussion featuring Delegate Eric Luedtke (Maryland House of Delegates Majority Leader), William Tilburg (Executive Director of the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission) and Jake Van Wingerden (President of SunMed Growers) as they discuss the critical issues affecting Maryland’s legal cannabis industry. The discussion will be moderated by Jonathan Wachs of Offit Kurman’s Cannabis Law Group.

 

This virtual discussion will help you understand:

THE PANELISTS

Delegate Eric Luedtke | Maryland House of Delegates

Eric Luedtke represents District 14 in the Maryland House of Delegates where he serves as the Majority Leader and Chair of the Revenues Subcommittee. As Revenues Subcommittee Chair, he works to reevaluate our tax code to ensure that it works for, and not against, Marylanders. Outside of his role as a legislator, he works as a Clinical Professor at the University of Maryland, College Park’s School of Public Policy. At their home in Ashton, Delegate Luedtke and his wife, Dawn, raise their four children.

William Tilburg | Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission

William Tilburg is the Executive Director of the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission, the agency responsible for regulating Maryland’s medical cannabis program. As Executive Director, Will directs the Commission’s day-to-day activities and leads all legislative and regulatory efforts. Will teaches graduate courses on health law and ethics in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the University of Maryland.
Jake Van Wingerden | SunMed Growers
 
Jake Van Wingerden, a third-generation greenhouse grower, is the CEO of SunMed Growers, the largest cannabis growing facility in Maryland, dedicated to cultivating medical cannabis utilizing “Dutch” style greenhouse technologies. He formerly served as Chair of the Maryland Wholesale Medical Cannabis Trade Association, which represents the Maryland’s growers and processors, and remains an active member on the Board of Directors.
