MEET THE SPEAKERS
Wallace Boston
Green Street Impact Partners, General Partner
In 2021, Dr. Wallace Boston co-founded Green Street Impact Partners, a PE firm focusing on investing in education technology companies that can scale and positively impact the success of learners throughout the K-12, higher education, and workforce development continuum.Prior to establishing Green Street Impact Partners, Dr. Boston served as President and Chief Executive Officer of American Public University System (APUS) and its parent company, American Public Education, Inc. (APEI) from July 2004 through August 2020 when he retired. He was an executive in multiple publicly held healthcare companies from 1985-2002.
Dr. Boston earned an A.B. degree in History from Duke University, an MBA in Marketing and Accounting from Tulane University, and a Doctorate in Higher Education Management from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Boston is an alumnus and past Treasurer of the Board of Trustees of McDonogh School. He is a CPA, CMA, and CGMA.
Dr. Boston lives in Austin, Texas. In his spare time, he writes about education and technology for his blog at www.wallyboston.com.
Kevin Costa
McDonogh School, Director of LifeReady
Kevin Costa is Director of LifeReady at McDonogh School, a PreK-12 independent institution serving over 1400 students. Kevin was the chief architect of LifeReady, the school's strategic vision for teaching and learning, which first launched in 2014. Since then, Kevin has led the faculty in its evolution of pedagogical practice, which is rooted in research from the learning sciences, futurist scholarship predicting the kinds of competencies students should possess, and best practices from the field of educational leaders and organizations.
Kevin earned a PhD in English from SUNY-Buffalo and has worked in education for thirty years. He lives in Owings Mills, MD, with his wife and son.
