Greater Philadelphia Hotel Association: Anti-Harassment Seminar
March 21, 2018 at 1:30 pm EDT
Anti-Harassment Seminar – As an employer, what are you doing to keep your workplace free of sexual harassment???
The GPHA offers the rare opportunity to hear these issues discussed from the business and the employee perspective; Offit Kurman, management-side employment attorney, and Ari Karpf, plaintiff-side employment attorney.
From Harvey Weinstein to Steve Wynn, the issue of sexual harassment in the workplace has become a major concern for all employers. Employers who ignore their responsibilities to enforce their anti-harassment policies and fail to investigate harassment complaints risk huge financial loss and damage to their brand and image. The questions now are how can an employer get in front of the issue, ensure a workplace free of sexual harassment and properly remedy the issue when it arises.
Discussions will cover:
∙Reviewing and creating policies to best protect the company and keep the workforce free of sexual harassment
∙Company v. individual liability
∙Training employees about what is and is not harassment and how to handle witnessing it
∙HR and management training on how to respond to and investigate sexual harassment complaints, and
∙Post-investigation conduct and the importance of prohibiting retaliation
