Employers’ Legal Risks From its Remote Workforce and How to Address Them
October 28, 2020 at 10:00 am EDT
DATE & TIME
Wednesday, October 28
10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
The pandemic made businesses quickly respond to social distancing by having employees work remotely. What are the risks?
Many companies are not aware that they may be held liable for injuries to employees or other legal claims as a result of employees working remotely. The pandemic pushed businesses to quickly respond to social distancing mandates to reduce the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) by allowing, or even requiring, employees to work from home. Many employers did not have time to implement procedures to ensure that their employees have safe and legally compliant working environments at home.
Brandywine Technology has partnered with Offit Kurman, P.A. and Williams Insurance Agency to present an overview of the risks surrounding employees working remotely and its potential legal effects on your company. Attorney Katherine Witherspoon Fry will discuss current legal issues regarding employees working remotely and ramifications as a result of potential injury and other claims. Jason Clarke of Williams Insurance Agency will discuss recent worker’s compensation scenarios and outline policies to implement to protect your employees and your business.
At the end of this webinar you will walk away with a checklist to help you implement or add to your work at home policy.
Please send any questions to KKnowlton@brandywinetechnology.com prior to the webinar regarding the risk of employees working remotely. We are hoping to address everyone's questions during the presentation.
