Tom Pitegoff to Host NYSBA CLE Program on Drafting Licensing, Distribution, and Franchise Agreements
New York, NY | September 10, 2019 A well-drafted licensing, franchise, or distribution agreement cements the foundation of a positive business relationship and protects parties on both sides of the arrangement from legal risks and litigation costs. Experienced attorneys and novices to these types of agreements will soon have an opportunity to improve their contract drafting skills. The New York State Bar Association will host a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) program next week.
Offit Kurman franchise attorney Thomas Pitegoff will serve as Program Chair for “Drafting Licensing, Franchise and Distribution Agreements,” a CLE session sponsored by the NYSBA’s Business Law Section and the Committee on Continuing Legal Education.
Over the course of an afternoon, experienced licensing, franchise, and distribution practitioners will share their agreement drafting tips and strategies. Attendees will learn “drafting fundamentals” along with guidance on how to safeguard against antitrust risks in these business arrangements.
In addition to Mr. Pitegoff, the program faculty includes New York attorneys Jay L. Himes (of Labaton Sucharow LLP), Andre R. Jaglom (of Tannenbaum Helpern Syracuse & Hirschtritt LLP) and Marc A. Lieberstein (of Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP).
“Drafting Licensing, Franchise and Distribution Agreements” will take place on Monday, September 16th, 2019, from 1–5pm Eastern Daylight Time. The program is pre-approved for 4.0 MCLE Credits in New York, as well as in California, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. Admission is $150 for NYSBA members ($250 for non-members, and $125 for co-sponsoring Section members). For those unable to attend in-person, the presentation will also be available via webcast.
