For Immediate Release

Frederick, MD | December 20, 2019

The Letterpressed Newspaper "The Ephemeral" locked up in the Press

To help preserve the art of book printing and provide education to future generations, the Offit Kurman Charitable Foundation has made a generous contribution to the Frederick Book Arts Center (FBAC). The donation was facilitated by Offit Kurman attorney David Severn.

Based in Frederick, the FBAC is a newly founded 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching the craft and techniques associated with “the Art of the Book.” The organization seeks to offer workshops and other educational programs on letterpress printing, printmaking, bookbinding, photography, and language arts. The FBAC is also in the process of opening a gallery space for members, students, and visiting artists.

In his capacity as land use, development, and real estate attorney at Offit Kurman, Mr. Severn has represented Sara Friedman, one of the driving forces behind Frederick Book Arts, as well as her husband Michael.
