syed lawI’m also proud to announce that I was recently admitted to practice before the United States Court of International Trade and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. I was admitted during the Joint Swearing-In Ceremony in Washington, DC for both Courts sponsored by the Section of International Law of the American Bar Association.

Established by Congress under the Customs Court Act in 1980 and Article III of the U.S. Constitution, the United States Court of International Trade replaced the United States Customs Court to hear international trade and customs law questions. With nationwide jurisdiction over civil actions arising out of the customs and international trade laws of the United States, the Court has a profound effect on shaping and developing international trade in the United States and the world.

Established on October 1, 1982 by Congress under the Federal Courts Improvement Act and Article III of the U.S. Constitution, The United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit was formed by the merger of the United States Court of Customs and Patent Appeals and the appellate division of the United States Court of Claims. Located in Washington, DC, the Court has nationwide jurisdiction in many different subject areas including international trade, government contracts, patents, trademarks, certain money claims against the United States government, federal personnel, veterans’ benefits, and public safety officers’ benefits claims. Comprised of 12 active judges appointed by U.S. presidents, the Court plays a critical role in the development and maintenance of federal and international law.

I owe much gratitude to many friends and mentors who have helped me along the way and I hope that we will have an opportunity to celebrate together in the near future. Please contact me if I may be of assistance.
