Sarah Sawyer Quoted in the Maryland Reporter on Vaccine Mandates

Offit Kurman Labor and Employment Attorney Sarah Sawyer was quoted in a July 21, 2021 article in the Maryland Reporter about the potential for vaccine mandates due to the ongoing presence of COVID-19 and the growth of the delta variant. In “Will Vaccine Mandates Become Prevalent in the Business Community?”  Sawyer shared her insight into the challenges that employers face if they decide to impose mandates and the impact of mandate support by the federal government.

Sarah Sawyer, a labor and employment attorney with the Baltimore-based law firm Offit Kurman, said vaccine mandates could create headaches for employers.

“When employers mandate vaccination, they have to be prepared to enforce the policy if an employee refuses to get vaccinated, which could cause them to lose top talent in a competitive job market where replacements are hard to find.”
