Offit Kurman’s Neil A. Morris and Gabriel Celii Presented to PSATS

For Immediate Release

Philadelphia, PA | September 1, 2020

Offit Kurman’s Neil A. Morris, a principal and chair of the Philadelphia Labor & Employment group, and Gabriel Celii, who is also a member of the Labor & Employment group, gave a webinar entitled “Investigating Harassment & Other Claims in the Me Too Movement Era” to the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors (“PSATS”).

PSATS aims to strengthen and preserve township government and represents just under 1500 member townships. They act in five primary ways to maintain and forward their organizational goals: 1) by lobbying, partaking in legislative research and analysis, and assisting in policy development; 2) offering learning and educational programs from elected and appointed public officials; 3) hosting a full range of communication options including but not limited to newsletters, brochures, and more; 4) offering insurance to members to meet the needs of their townships, including but not limited to medical, dental, disability, and more; and lastly 5) managing five other affiliate associations.

Mr. Morris and Mr. Celii have primarily been involved with PSATS in the capacity that allows them to present relevant information to the membership. Both Offit Kurman attorneys have presented for the group on multiple occasions and topics in the past. The presentation mentioned above, which was also the most recent presentation, covered the what is considered harassment, employer liability and how companies should handle claims, reporting issues, and workplace culture.

At Offit Kurman, Neil A. Morris has passionately represented employers for the last 30 years. He concentrates in the areas of labor and employment, municipal labor law, employment discrimination, defamation defense, commercial litigation, and business litigation. He has served as Special/Labor Counsel for more than 35 Pennsylvania Townships and Boroughs, the County of Bucks and many private employers. He is often brought into municipalities to handle "crisis" situations involving employees and/or management.

At Offit Kurman, Gabriel Celii devotes his practice to representing businesses and municipal entities navigating labor and employment disputes ranging from wage and hour litigation and work place discrimination defense to labor negotiations and the resolution of grievances. During his representation of Philadelphia-area Townships and Counties, he has successfully defended claims brought against public officials and advised municipalities on the drafting of local ordinances, such as Police Pension DROP amendments.
