Offit Kurman Well Represented in PIPLA

Offit Kurman attorney Joseph Mathew was elected to the Philadelphia Intellectual Property Law Association (“PIPLA”) Board and Gregory Grissett presented a CLE course on issues in patent law from the past year at the annual PIPLA Year-in-Review meeting.

PIPLA is an organization of Intellectual Property lawyers and law student affiliates primarily in the Greater Philadelphia area. Through regular meetings, sponsored CLE opportunities, and amicus briefs, PIPLA promotes the development and understanding of Intellectual Property Law.

Joseph Mathew focuses on domestic and foreign patent and trademark prosecution, intellectual property litigation, validity analysis support, infringement analysis support, and due diligence. He works on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications for clients ranging from large multinational corporations to entrepreneurial start-ups in emerging technology fields. Joseph has helped prosecute patent applications in technology areas including prosthetics, surgical tools, computer hardware, microelectronics, optics, and drug delivery. He also has experience in patent acquisition and IP licensing.

Gregory Grissett helps businesses navigate complex intellectual property issues related to product development, marketing and capital investment, with experience spanning the apparel, textile, sporting goods, medical device, oil & gas, automotive, furniture, and consumer products industries. He has a rare combination of experience in the international and business aspects of intellectual property. Gregory lived and worked in Paris, France, where he gained experience in U.S. and European patent procurement and enforcement. He also has business experience working with a major global materials corporation in IP management and licensing roles. His international perspective and practical experience help companies proactively manage IP development and enforcement issues unique to complex business operations.
