For Immediate Release

New York, NY | January 31, 2019

How has labor and employment law changed during the first two years of Donald Trump's Presidency? Legal and business professionals in New York City recently turned to Rod Biermann, a Principal attorney with Offit Kurman, for the answer.

Earlier this month, Mr. Biermann was invited to present a Continuing Legal Education course entitled "Labor and Employment Law Developments Under the Trump Administration." The event was hosted by the New York City Bar and held at their City Bar Center for Continuing Legal Education on January 17th, 2019.

According to the NYC Bar, the course aimed to address labor and employment law developments over the past two years of President Trump’s term in office "by taking a nonpartisan look at a variety of events that will likely impact the practice of labor and employment law."

The event topics included: a) the rescission of DOL guidance on worker misclassification; b) rescission of the DOL’s 2016 "Persuader Rule"; c) recent developments regarding salary tests for the Fair Labor Standards Act overtime exemption; d) changes in DOL and DOJ guidance and policy; d)  important decisions by the National Labor Relations Board; e) the impact of certain executive actions; and f) recent decisions from the U.S. Supreme Court.
