Offit Kurman Metro Park Attorney, Margaret Carmeli, to Speak at AEA 2020 Spring Utility Management Conference

For Immediate Release

Metropark, NJ | February 24, 2020

Offit Kurman Metropark Attorney, Margaret Carmeli, will be speaking at the 2020 Spring Utility Management Conference, which is being held on Tuesday, March 10 and Wednesday, March 11 at Caesars in Atlantic City, N.J.

The conference’s presentation topics will start at 1:30 p.m. on March 10, and cover subjects such as affordability, water loss control strategy, regulatory changes, and more. These topics are targeted toward executive directors, managers, and commissioners/board members of NJ county and municipal utility authorities, sewerage authorities and municipal utilities/departments as well as professionals and reps of companies.

Margaret will be speaking on March 11, at 10:45 a.m. and her presentation will include basic information concerning Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), and perfluorooctanesulphonate (PFOs). PFOAs and PFOs belong to the wider class of perfluoroalkyl compounds, which were once viewed as beneficial and safe. Recent studies, however, have indicated that these compounds are both health and environmental hazards. Over the course of a half-hour, Margaret will explore the impact and consequences of these changes.

Margaret represents private and public clients on a broad spectrum of matters, with a concentration in environmental law. Her practice covers permitting, land use, compliance, sustainable and renewable energy, insurance coverage for environmental remediation, site remediation and enforcement. She has extensive experience in brownfields redevelopment and energy projects, representing public clients on regulatory and development matters and clients in private party business transactions and in internal company decision-making.
