Offit Kurman Attorneys At Law has hired, Karrie Goldstein, and named her as it’s first-ever Chief of Staff. The addition of this new role sets Offit Kurman further apart within the legal industry, positioning them even more as a progressive firm.
The shift in management structure was inspired by and long seen in military and political contexts, but is now also starting numerous forward-thinking organizations, including technology companies and start-ups. A recent New York Times article, titled “Hail to the Chief of Staff,” charts the rise of the role in private organizations:

“In the past half-decade, chiefs of staff have marched from the military and the halls of Congress into the technology world and beyond.”
At Offit Kurman, the Chief of Staff serves as a key member of the firm’s executive management team, reporting to the Managing Principal and playing a central role in the operations of the firm. In addition to assisting in the success of strategic and operational initiatives from development through successful execution under the guidance of the Office of Managing Principal, the Chief of Staff facilitates clear and effective two-way communication of needs, concerns, and ideas between the Managing Principal and others.
Offit Kurman created the position after 24 months of sustained, meteoric growth—fueled by expansions in New York City, North Carolina, and other markets on the U.S. East Coast. The firm’s management team sees the Chief of Staff as an essential part to continually providing better services for attorneys and clients and stimulate growth for the firm.
Karrie Goldstein is the first individual to serve as Chief of Staff at Offit Kurman. Before taking the role, Ms. Goldstein spent over 20 years managing human resources operations for companies in different industries, including a top ten public accounting firm.
“Karrie fulfills a critical need at our firm,” said Offit Kurman President and Managing Principal, Tim Lynch. “Her function in ensuring leadership communications and executing our strategic objectives empowers us to continue growing and deepening the value of our legal services at a rapid pace. The Chief of Staff role positions Offit Kurman at the leading edge of management structure and primes our firm for continued legal industry innovation in 2020 and beyond.”
