Offit Kurman Expands Bethesda Office with Addition of Two Attorneys

Offit Kurman is pleased to welcome attorneys Dayshon Wagner and Heather Sisto Koontz to the firm’s Bethesda office.

Associate Dayshon Wagner has joined the firm’s Landlord Representation group. Ms. Wagner works on behalf of property management companies to defend against allegations of DC housing code violations, discrimination and other landlord-tenant disputes. She advises clients on compliance with housing laws, internal and external company policies, negotiating and drafting commercial and residential leases and many other aspects of property management and ownership. Ms. Wagner is also experienced with employment law and has represented clients before federal and local administrative bodies in matters related to FMLA and Title VII.

Prior to joining Offit Kurman, Ms. Wagner was an attorney for federal government agencies, including the Board of Veterans Appeals and the Small business Administration. She also held a Judicial Clerkship in the Seventh Circuit of Maryland with Judge Sheila R. Tillerson Adams.

Ms. Wagner received her B.A., cum laude, from Bennett College for Women and her J.D., magna cum laude, from Northern Illinois University College of Law.

 

Associate Heather Sisto Koontz has joined the firm’s Family Law group. She specializes in divorce, custody, pre-and post-nuptial agreements and domestic violence. Ms. Koontz has experience in collaborative law for clients that wish to seek mediation and negotiation, as well as in litigation. Due to her personal experience growing up in a divorced family, she has a first-hand understanding of how to help children overcome the obstacles faced during and after a divorce.

Ms. Koontz received her B.A., summa cum laude, from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and her J.D. from Penn State Law. She also received a Verified Certificate of Achievement in Child Protection from HarvardX.
