Offit Kurman Bolsters its Ranks with Addition of Two Associates

BETHESDA, (July 14, 2023) – Offit Kurman is pleased to welcome Associates Gregory “Bates” Adair and Thomas Hughes to its Estates and Trusts and Landlord Representation group.

Gregory “Bates” Adair joins Offit Kurman’s Estates and Trusts practice in the firm’s Rock Hill and Charlotte, North Carolina offices. He focuses on estate administration, planning and probate for individuals, families and business owners. His work includes gifting and wealth transfer strategies, crafting comprehensive estate plans, and drafting and reviewing legal agreements. Bates brings significant experience in advanced techniques such as wills, trusts and powers of attorney. Previously, as a senior tax consultant for Deloitte Tax LLP, he prepared and reviewed tax returns for high-net-worth individuals and corporate clients, contributing to successful tax consulting projects.

Adair earned his B.A. from Wofford College and his J.D. from Charlotte School of Law. He also holds an LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center.

Thomas “Tom” Hughes joins the firm’s Landlord Representation practice in the Bethesda, Maryland, office. He focuses his practice on representing landlords and property management companies in residential and commercial litigation matters. Tom handles civil litigation matters, including breach of contract and negligence claims. Prior to joining Offit Kurman, Tom was an associate attorney at a boutique law firm in Bethesda, focusing on civil litigation and family law matters.

Hughes received his B.A. from Virginia Tech and his J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law.
