The Board of Regents of The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) has named Offit Kurman attorney, Lauren A. Jenkins, a Fellow in the College. She is one of just 40 legal professionals to receive the honor in 2019.

Established in 1949, ACTEC is a national organization comprised of leading estate lawyers and law professors from across the United States and around the world. The organization currently counts approximately 2,500 peer-elected Fellows among its membership ranks.

According to a press release from ACTEC, “to qualify for membership, a lawyer must have no fewer than 10 years’ experience in the active practice of trust and estate law” and display an “outstanding reputation, exceptional skill, and substantial contributions to the field by lecturing, writing, teaching, and participating in bar leadership or legislative activities.” Every Fellow shares a common goal: “to improve and reform probate, trust and tax laws, procedures, and professional responsibility.”

John A. Terrill, II, the College’s President, offered his congratulations “to the diverse new class of ACTEC Fellows from around the globe.”

“ACTEC Fellows have a reputation for demonstrating the highest level of professional excellence in what they do, for their clients, and for the trust and estate practice in their broader communities,” he said. “Collectively they play an important role in the creation, improvement, and interpretation of laws and rules for the benefit of our local communities, states, and country.”
