For Immediate Release

New York, NY | November 21, 2019

Laura Winston, an Intellectual Property (IP) attorney at Offit Kurman Attorneys At Law, has been chosen to lead an International Trademark Association (INTA) Subcommittee. Starting in January, Ms. Winston will serve as Chair of the Programming Subcommittee for INTA’s Brands and Innovation Committee.

INTA is the preeminent association for brand owners and IP professionals around the world. With members from more than 7,200 organizations and 187 countries, INTA advocates for the interests of brands and trademark practitioners—while cultivating consumer trust, nurturing economic growth, and driving innovation.

INTA’s Brands and Innovation Committee provides research, policy development, advocacy, strategic relationships, and education for brand owners navigating industry changes. The committee regularly collaborates with other INTA committees and subcommittees to advance its goals and maximize value for INTA members.

Ms. Winston has participated in INTA for years, acting in various capacities such as serving as Task Force Co-Chair on INTA's Enforcement Committee and leading INTA Roundtable discussions on a range of trademark-related topics. As chair of the Programming Subcommittee, she will now be leading a team that will be planning panels, sessions, conferences, and other programs beneficial to trademark practitioners and brand owners. The role will connect her with some of the world’s leading brands and innovators.

“It’s an honor to be granted this leadership role,” Ms. Winston said. “I feel fortunate to serve INTA and its members as Chair of the Programming Subcommittee. I look forward to the opportunity to work towards fulfilling INTA’s mission of increasing the visibility of brands, particularly in the sphere of emerging ideas and trends, and working with my subcommittee and committee colleagues to create enticing, informative programming.”
