James Hoffman to Present on Bankruptcy at the Bar Association of Montgomery County CLE Program

Principal James Hoffman will present at the Bar Association of Montgomery County CLE program, Bankruptcy Primer: How to Keep Yourself and Your Client Out of Trouble, on Wednesday, March 9th, 2022.

In this program, Mr. Hoffman will be joined by a panel to address the bankruptcy basics, including anticipating the bankruptcy possibilities of adversaries before they file; understanding the differences between Chapter 7, Chapter 13 and Chapter 11 bankruptcies; properly responding to the automatic stay and determining whether to seek relief from the stay; anticipating what disclosures the debtor makes, under oath, as to assets, income, expenses and claims; knowing how and when creditors need to engage in the process; analyzing and protecting creditors’ rights to challenge the discharge of their claims, and understanding the bankruptcy discharge as it relates to secured and unsecured creditors.
