Howard Kurman Speaks at Chesapeake Human Resources Association’s 18th Annual Fall HR Conference

Offit Kurman Co-Founder and Principal Howard Kurman spoke at the Chesapeake Human Resources Association’s 18^th Annual Fall HR Conference on November 2^nd, 2023. The conference focused solely on legislation and employment law updates that are an integral part of day-to-day operations for HR practitioners in Maryland.

Howard delivered the program titled “What Employers Can and Should Do to Deal with an Overactive and Employee-Friendly National Labor Relations Board.” Howard’s presentation provided an overview of the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) and its current implications, focusing on the NLRB’s pro-union stance, key decisions affecting severance agreements, non-compete clauses, independent contractor status and work rules, emphasizing the need for proactive measures to navigate the changing labor landscape.
