Debbie Petito Published in the Recorder on California’s Workplace Violence Prevention Plan

Debbie Petito, Principal attorney with Offit Kurman and head of the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice, recently published an article with the Recorder, “Preparing for California’s Workplace Violence Prevention Plan.”

Newly signed CA Senate Bill 553 requires virtually every employer in the state to create and implement a written Workplace Violence Prevention Plan as a part of their Cal/OSHA Injury and Illness Prevention Plans. This is a groundbreaking law that will require employers to have written plans in place by July of 2024, just a few short months away. In the article, she examines what California employers need to know in terms of creating and implementing the plan, as well as training and reporting requirements.
