Virginia Civil Lawsuit Filings Increase in 2022

 

Civil lawsuit filings in Virginia’s General District Courts increased 9% during 2022. The biggest increase? Unlawful detainer (eviction) filings. Meanwhile, civil lawsuit filings in Virginia’s Circuit Courts decreased, with domestic case filings (including divorces) seeing a notable decrease.
