Traditional Law Firms are Still the Better Choice for Growth-Minded Attorneys
As Published in The Legal Intelligencer – Special Section March 2021: Top Laterals/New Partners
Now that we have reached the one-year mark where most lawyers have been working almost entirely remotely, many firms find themselves addressing their future as they consider a plan to migrate slowly back into an office-based work environment. Law firm managers are weighing the cost-benefits of trimming back on brick and mortar locations and transitioning to a workforce that will, in part, want to remain remote – at least for a time.
Some commentators have opined that this new normal will cause many lawyers to consider moving from traditional law firms to virtual firms. I do not think a large-scale move to virtual law firms will happen as the new operating reality for ”traditional” law firms dramatically undercut the benefits of moving to a virtual law firm for the growth-minded attorney.
