Why do we do the things we do?

“If you don’t play to win don’t play at all”
Seven-time Super Bowl Champion Tom Brady

Why do we do the things we do?  Do we have purpose in our business?  I have to believe that entrepreneurs operating business play to win (have success, however measured including being profitable).  I know I do in my business.  Winning isn’t everything in life.  However, knowing the why and the desired result allows the entrepreneur to strategize forward. Time is wasted by simply going through the motions (with everything in life).  Tom Brady certainly takes this simple concept to its fullest.  Of course, playing the game of football, the ultimate goal never changes.  But in business our “wins” may change as the business evolves.  In the business, our win may be proof of concept; thereafter, profitability and ultimately, perhaps a successful sale/transition.  Vision your win and make certain all of your actions and activities further you towards this goal.
