Read & Share: The Interconnected World of Voice Acting
You may have come to expect my Read|Delete tidbit to show up each Monday morning. For the last 10 years, I have regularly published a short blurb of special interest as a means to keep in touch and to generate discussion. These short reads have been well received and I’ve maintained many connections as a result. I came up with the phrase “Read|Delete” as a reflection of what I thought the readership may do with my short reads. That is, to quickly read and then delete.
As life progresses, I recently thought about the Read|Delete concept and realized that reading and deleting is too simplistic. Our world is bathed in data and facts. Our world is also driven by the sharing of these data and facts. Thus, I’m rebranding my Read|Delete to now be Read & Share. I think the sharing of interesting facts is good stewardship – and a fun way to communicate with friends and colleagues. Please look for the new brand – Read & Share – and please do share any of the tidbits you find entertaining, interesting, or just fun.
What makes a voice actor successful in their role? Their ability to tell stories and to manipulate the inflection in their voice, which in turn forms a connection with their audience. Voice actors have no choice but to abandon body language, which all actors alike, rely on to tell a story. Voice acting is no walk in the park, and that is why you find yourself recognizing the voice of one character in a show with the voice of another character in a different movie. Fivesquid has created this infographic detailing just how in-demand voice actors are. Any surprises?
