Department of Labor Overtime Update
On March 7, 2019, the Department of Labor announced its formal intention to change the salary exemption test from the current level of $455/week ($23,660 annually) to a level of $679/week ($35,308 annually). As many will remember, under the Obama administration the DOL had proposed more than doubling the annual salary test. The proposed new rule will be published in the Federal Register and most likely will be implemented on or around January 1, 2020. Stay tuned for further developments on this issue.
