Pinnacles: John Fenzel, Author and Leadership Expert
John Fenzel is an author, public speaker, historian, and organizational leadership educator. Having spent 30 years as an Army Special Forces officer (commonly referred to as a “Green Beret”) and multiple tenures as a member of White House staff, John brings real-world warzone and Homeland Security experience to his presentations and storytelling. His accomplishments include commanding the Special Forces Training Battalion at Fort Bragg and the Army brigade at Fort Knox, serving as a White House Fellow during the Clinton and Bush administrations, acting as Staff Director for Tom Ridge in the Homeland Security Council in the wake of the September 11th, 2011 attacks, and leading the development of the color-coded Homeland Security Advisory System. He has written three books of fiction: The Lazarus Covenant, The Sterling Forest, and The Fifth Column.
In this Pinnacles interview, John spoke with Michael N. Mercurio about his military background, his transition to novel-writing, and the leadership principles that inform his life and work.
