Offit Kurman Names Five New Practice Group Leaders for 2018
Offit Kurman is pleased to announce our updated roster of attorneys leading the firm’s Practice Groups. The current list comprises 16 of the firm’s 150-plus lawyers and includes Six first-time Practice Group Leaders: James Hoffman, Douglas Kay, Frank Noyes, Linda Ostovitz, and Glenn Solomon.
Additionally, two of the firm’s large practice groups have been split into North and South groups, reflecting Offit Kurman’s expanding regional footprint.
Several of the new Practice Group Leaders are inheriting their roles from attorneys who, in the words of Practice Management Principal John Raftery, “have admirably served and completed their terms as Practice Group Leader.”
“The firm expresses its thanks and appreciation to each Practice Group Leader who served in the past who is not continuing as Practice Group Leaders in 2018,” he said. “Our firm is fortunate to have a great many attorneys who are able and qualified to take on the responsibility of practice group leadership. Please join us in congratulating all of the PGLs on their appointment and in wishing them much success in their efforts.”
Speaking on behalf of the firm’s Management Committee, Mr. Raftery said that careful consideration was given to identifying Offit Kurman’s PGLs for 2018.
“Practice group management is an ever important and integral part of our firm’s management structure and our collective and individual financial success,” he said. “Our practice groups are part of the foundation on which our firm culture is based. They help drive innovation to find new ways to service and reach our clients, and allow our lawyers to cross-market more effectively.”
Among legal organizations in the United States Mid-Atlantic region, Offit Kurman stands out for its diversity—both in terms of services offered and in regards to the men and women who preside over the firm’s various practice areas. In addition to their work with clients, Practice Group leaders oversee the activities of their colleagues throughout the firm’s 12 office locations in the New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, DC regions. These 16 individuals collaborate with Regional Managers, as well as members of the Management Committee, to develop legal service offerings and meet the firm’s long-term, strategic objectives.
According to Mr. Raftery, the firm’s practice group objectives for 2018 include “a robust practice group support mechanism, a commitment to enhance group and individual attorney marketing efforts, and to address important ongoing issues including workflow, excess capacity management, and work-product excellence.”
As a whole, Offit Kurman’s PGLs have achieved numerous distinctions and accolades—such as Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent ratings and recognition in Super Lawyers—as go-to litigators, mediators, and advisors in their fields.
