PRACTICE FOCUS
Susie Kim represents multi-national companies and their subsidiaries in complex business immigration and serves as an advisor to many of her business clients in a wide range of legal matters that arise during the course of international business establishment, cross-border entry and growth in the United States.
Susie advises business clients ranging from International Fortune 500 companies to small and mid-size start-ups in all aspects of representing global entrepreneurs, investors and employers in connection with the temporary employment of professionals, executives and intra-company transfers.
Susie also has significant experience in representing international artists, athletes, entertainers, musicians, scientists and researchers entering the United States for professional work, events and performances. In addition to her business clients, as more individuals have become subject to international tax laws, this requires sophisticated asset management plans in a multi-jurisdictional context on a global scale.
Susie also has particular experience in advising on issues that are uniquely relevant to high net-worth individuals, multinational families with US citizen and non-citizen family members with property and assets in more than one country. Susie has many years of experience regularly advising and guiding her clients as their trusted legal advisor through the varied and ever-changing landscape of immigration, pre- and post-acquisition of green card, expatriation, international tax and estate planning matters and concerns of closely held (and often family controlled) multinational businesses and their owners.
Susie speaks regularly at seminars and conferences on business immigration and cross-border issues for various Korean trade associations including the Korean Chamber of Commerce, Korean Trade-Investment Promotion Agency and International Association of Korean Lawyers.
Susie has been on Korean radio programs on immigration law as a regular guest host on Radio Korea New York (1994-2005) and on Korean Christian Broadcasting Radio (“KCBN”) (2007-Present).
Susie obtained her B.A. from Bernard M. Baruch College in Accounting and her J.D. from New York Law School.
