REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS
- Successfully administered an estate in Montgomery County for an intestate decedent with no close relatives. This required locating all legal heirs, communicating with all heirs to explain the process, and working with them to obtain consents for the appointment of a Personal Representative. Additionally, keeping them informed throughout the administration process, managing estate debts and assets, including the sale of the estate’s real property, filing tax returns, distributing assets, and making all necessary filings with the Register of Wills for Montgomery County.
- Assisted in successfully defending a multi-million-dollar estate from a claim for the distribution of tangible personal property pursuant to an alleged oral agreement and prenuptial agreement that contradicted the terms of the decedent’s will.
- Assisted in successfully representing a multi-million-dollar estate in negotiations with the Internal Revenue Service, preventing an increase in estate tax.
