Erin C. Golding is a Principal in the firm’s Family Law group. Erin focuses her practice on helping her clients through divorce, child custody, child and spousal support, property distribution, paternity, civil protection proceedings, prenuptial agreements and other matters involving family disputes.
Erin's goal is to help her clients reach thoughtful, comprehensive and durable agreements to resolve their family law issues. When litigation is required, Erin is a strategic and effective advocate of her client's rights and interests. Erin is a skilled mediator and regularly serves in that capacity in family law matters, working with parties to facilitate their discussions and resolve all issues related to their separation or other family dispute in an informative and supportive forum. She serves as a collaborative attorney for clients who wish to take advantage of the out-of-court Collaborative Process to resolve their family disputes. The Collaborative Process allows clients to commit to resolving their matter out of court while having the support and guidance of their attorney by their side. Erin has been appointed by the Court to represent children as a Guardian ad Litem or Best Interest Attorney in complex custody cases.
Erin is a Board Member and Past-President of the D.C. Academy of Collaborative Professionals and a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. Erin volunteers regularly at the Family Court Self-Help Center at D.C. Superior Court. Erin previously served on the D.C. Bar’s Family Law Steering Committee and on the D.C. Court’s Domestic Relations Branch Subcommittee. She is a past President and co-founder of the Collaborative Project of Maryland and a co-founder and continuing board member of the Collaborative Access Project of Washington, D.C.
