Eric Lanter is an attorney in the firm’s Commercial Litigation practice group. As a zealous attorney dedicated to his clients, Eric frequently represents clients in civil litigation involving claims of breach of contract, negligence, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, conversion, and tortious interference.
Eric maintains an extensive practice and counsels clients ranging from high-profile public figures and stand-out corporations in their industries to individuals, small businesses, and start-ups. He also advises his clients on matters varying from dealing with contract disputes to navigating regulatory compliance to overseeing investigations. Eric’s litigation experience touches on every phase of litigation, including conducting trials and appellate advocacy.

Eric devotes much of his practice to representing Housing Development Fund Corporation cooperatives (HDFCs) and cooperatives throughout the New York City metropolitan area. His services include:

REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS
- Obtained temporary restraining order ensuring vital healthcare facility stayed open during roadwork
- Fought off adversary’s summary judgment motion, keeping intact claims for fraud and securities violations against securities broker
- Obtained summary judgment against an entity that acquired business and attempted to avoid paying acquired business’ debt owed to creditor client
- Secured dismissal of an action where tenant claimed retaliatory eviction against landlord based on collateral estoppel
- Prevailed in obtaining temporary restraining order restricting the disposal of assets in elder abuse case
- Conducted bench trial dismissing action filed against an insurance company based on denial of a claim
- Successfully defended appeal of case dismissal based on the issue having been decided in a prior trial
