Alan V. Klein has significant and diversified experience garnered over more than thirty years of practicing law.
Mr. Klein has litigated a wide variety of matters including those related to antitrust, consumer fraud, business torts, contracts, sales taxes, environmental issues, securities, real estate, products liability, divorce and custody, and insurance. Representative clients have included a national food manufacturer/distributor, an internet-based appliance retailer, a kosher certification agency, financial institutions, professional corporations, real estate developers, non-profits and individuals.
He also has extensive experience drafting bylaws and operating agreements for non-profit corporations and additional transactional experience relating to the environmental aspects of commercial transactions, such as the acquisition of commercial/industrial property and assets, business mergers and acquisitions and initial public offerings.
Mr. Klein previously worked as a plaintiffs' class action attorney, including as co-lead counsel, on antitrust and consumer fraud matters involving the health care, pharmaceutical, credit card and printer manufacturing industries. These cases related to drug and hospital pricing, regulatory requirements concerning packaging, warnings, labeling and marketing of pharmaceuticals and medical devices, credit card disclosures and manufacturing design flaws.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Klein was an electrical engineer for a U.S. defense contractor.
