In the next Breakfast Bar Speaker Series, preparing to send your kids off to college can be an exciting, overwhelming, and terrifying experience. As a licensed counselor who works with college students and the parents of college students, Alyssa is here to help you learn what to expect, what emotional challenges your child may face, and how to support them during this time. Come join Alyssa as she shares stories of her own transition to college, the lessons she's learned as a therapist for this population, and ways to ease your anxieties as you send your kids off to the "real world"!

Alyssa Weinman is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor at New Connections Counseling Center. She holds a M.S. in Clinical Professional Counseling Program from Loyola University Maryland, and graduated with a B.S. in Psychology from Towson University, where she was the President of Psi Chi National Honor's Society & Psychology Club. She has empathetically served mental health, addiction, special education, and community support needs through psychotherapy, skills-based training, and evidence-based therapies. Alyssa specializes in adults presenting with anxiety, depression, burnout, family conflict, and relationship issues. She is excited to continue with her passion of helping others through advocacy and hands-on field-experience!
