Mr. Tompkins has experience handling complex estate planning matters, including business succession and asset protection issues. He also has appellate experience before the Pennsylvania Supreme and Commonwealth Courts involving Pennsylvania inheritance tax and healthcare law issues. Mr. Tompkins represents several large private charitable foundations with respect to organizational, tax and administrative matters.
Activities
Mr. Tompkins has addressed numerous professional and civic organizations, including the Villanova University School of Business, the Montgomery County Estate Planning Council and the Delaware County Small Business Association, on a variety of topics relating to estate and personal financial planning, estate and trust administration, elder law and healthcare issues. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association—Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section.
Previous Work
Prior to joining Offit Kurman, Mr. Tompkins worked for the Internal Revenue Service Estate and Gift Tax Division, and as a principal in an international accounting firm where he provided estate and personal financial planning services. More recently, he has been associated with several prominent Philadelphia and suburban Pennsylvania law firms, including Abrahams, Loewenstein & Bushman, P.C.
