Practice Focus
Mr. Gauvey focuses his practice in the areas of immigration, labor and employment and general civil litigation. In immigration, Mr. Gauvey has represented clients in all types of employment-based immigration and has represented individuals in EB-1 and EB-2 National Interest Waiver applications. Mr. Gauvey represents employers in a wide range of matters including general immigration, compliance issues, discrimination defense, sexual harassment, ADA and ADEA claims, wage and hour matters, FMLA, contracts matters and employment-related tort claims. Mr. Gauvey represents clients before local, state and federal administrative agencies and courts across the nation involving immigration, labor and employment issues, as well as in arbitrations and other dispute resolution proceedings. Mr. Gauvey regularly advises clients on Form I-9 issues, immigration compliance and employer policies and procedures.

Mr. Gauvey has authored articles on Form I-9 compliance issues for the Maryland Bar Journal and various trade publications.  In addition, Mr. Gauvey has lectured on a variety of topics including hiring, discipline and discharge; FMLA; immigration; employment discrimination; and workplace investigations.
